Windows Vista® FAQ
With the recent launch of Microsoft Windows Vista, some customers have encountered errors when using this operating system with our Total Training DVDs. Here are some suggestions on how to correct these issues, and allow for optimal viewing of our training videos.
ISSUE:
When launching the Training you receive a Script error "Handler not found object…#stop".
SOLUTION:
When the audio subsystem detects that the user has no output device (speakers or headphones), it flags itself as "disabled". To avoid this issue, users must have headphones/speakers plugged-in to the audio output port to play Windows Media video.
If you open the Sound Control Panel, you'll see one of these two states, depending on whether headphones/speakers are plugged-in or not:
ISSUE:
The training application hangs, the audio is not clear, and then the hourglass cursor appears. After focus is removed from the TUI, the video disappears within the interface, and only a blue stripe background or white screen is visible).
SOLUTION:
To correct this issue, use the following steps:
Open the training disc contents,
Right-click on either the Launchpad .exe file,
Select Properties from the drop-down menu. The Properties panel will display.
Select the Compatibility tab.
Select the checkbox to run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2.
ISSUE:
Difficulty installing the project files included with the training video.
SOLUTION:
To correct this issue, use the following steps:
Open the training disc contents.
Find the Project Files folder.
Right click on folder,
Select Copy and Paste to your desktop.
ISSUE:
Some users receive error messages during install.
SOLUTION:
When you receive this error message, click OK in the error dialog box (seen above).
When the Program Files folder is found to be inaccessible, the program will copy to an alternate folder (C:\Users\\Documents\Total Training\) which is assumed to always be accessible.
After the copy to the alternate folder completes, the following dialog appears, showing a successful copy to that folder:
ISSUE:
Upon inserting the training disc, the below alert is triggered
SOLUTION:
To correct this Issue, Click through it to start the Launchpad.
