If you're in a Windows-based world, Microsoft might have the answer for you: SkyDrive. The new cloud service offers you access to all of your Windows PCs - even their attached external hard drives - meaning your documents follow you wherever you go.

After reviewing how to use this service with online training, getting it up and running is simple. Visit skydrive.com to see a list of all your PCs connected to your account. Pick one and you can view its contents as if it was on the desk in front of you.

Microsoft Office 365 provides update for information transparency

Microsoft Office 365 provides update for information transparency

Microsoft Office is increasing its transparency by releasing information to customers and administrators about new features added to Office 365, according to ZDNET.com. By adding a new public forum with monthly updated wikis on the latest functionality features, Microsoft has endeared itself to users again.

As new technology develops and updates get added, users can benefit from receiving notifications of new features as they are provided. If there is any additional confusion, a person may wish to consider investing in online training to provide further clarification.

There have been a number of updates for the 2012 small business version:

1. More language packs available. Microsoft Office 365 offers a wide range of languages in a free downloadable language pack if a user has a subscription to the service. If you’re not an English speaker, it is not a problem as Office improved its global appeal by increasing the number and variance of dialects.

2. Lync Client-side recording. Users can now enable or disable client recording. If your business conducts itself over Lync, a digital copy of Lync 2010 conversations in audio, video or instant messaging formats can be helpful in providing a record of all interactions.

3. Office 365 support for POP and IMAP connection to Outlook 2003. For those using POP and IMAP connections in Outlook 2003, there will now be increased support. However, there are still a few services not included in this new service update and a user may wish to be aware of this to reduce stress down the road.

4. New service health RSS feed. The new Service Health Dashboard RSS feed provided by Office 365 may come in handy to get information about service maintenance events to determine if any interruptions are scheduled. In the modern world, even a one hour service delay needs to be scheduled and broadcast to reduce unfortunate lapses from occurring.

5. External sharing. Beginning in February, users can use their business email addresses to authenticate their identity when invited to a collection. This allows an employee to use their Windows LiveID to associate an email address with the LiveID system and then invite customers and clients to partake in conversations using their own associate LiveID. When immediate communication is required, consider using this tool to circumvent unnecessary costs or potential time wasters.

6. Capture and import various file formats. Use your Outlook Personal Folder which is a (.pst) file format and then important documents into an Exchange Server and Exchange Online to convert them. The Outlook folder provides an organization more control over email data. By depositing them into Exchange, a person can easily determine where files are located and who was the original file owner if needed via the Capture Console.

These updates are just the very beginning as more expected in the upcoming quarters of 2012. After considering the changes, if anything is not easy to understand, use online training to provide the necessary steps to fill in the blanks. The constantly evolving modern world makes such investments a strategic purchase for continued success.

If a person is using Microsoft Office 365 or considering a switch over to the cloud-based system, they may wish to check out the support site.

Why should you use Microsoft Office PowerPoint?

Why should you use Microsoft Office PowerPoint?

If you need a significant number of presentations for work, consider using Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Any business-oriented informational meeting can benefit from using the program. It can help you gain the interest of an audience and impart wisdom, facts or training exercises. This easy-to-use visual aid can provide a technological support system for improving your overall presentation performance.

If you’re looking to increase your usage of the software, consider investing in Microsoft Office training. Easy-to-use directions are provided in audio, visual and written formats to increase information retention and your ability to learn and implement new skills into your presentations.

Here are seven reasons to use Microsoft Office PowerPoint:

1. Cost effective. Unlike other presentation programs, PowerPoint  has a one-time initial cost and can be used for years. Not only is it an affordable software, but it surpasses some of its’ pricier counterparts in ability and functionality.

2. Recall aid. Just standing in front of an audience rarely makes an impact. Punch up your presentation and increase your audiences’ ability to retain information by including bullet points, key phrases, pictures, video and dialogue in your presentation. Microsoft Office PowerPoint provides a large variety of tools and plug-in capabilities that make including these elements easy.

3. Collaborate with team members. PowerPoint 2010 allows multiple team members to edit the same presentation simultaneously while in completely different locations with co-authoring. Other tools included in Microsoft Office 2010  are Lync, Office Communicator and an instant messaging application which allow you to see the availability of colleagues and streamline discussions throughout the presentation’s development.

4. Grab attention with dynamic slides. Create an entire display with attention-grabbing slide transitions, dynamic animation effects and new customizable applications that make the entire look and feel of the presentation closer to watching a video. PowerPoint 2010 comes equipped with an updated Animation Painter to improve your ability to create unique elements.

5. Work on multiple devices. The latest edition of PowerPoint allows you to open completely separate windows for each presentation. This enables you to multi task and edit more than one document simultaneously, either side-by-side or on different monitors if needed. The modern world requires modern solutions.

6. Store and present anywhere. Rarely is the device you create a presentation on the unit the document will be later displayed on for an audience. Therefore, it is crucial to use a program and file type that can be easily used on a variety of devices. Arriving at the lecture hall or boardroom only to find out you’re unable to open a document on a flash drive is both aggravating and a huge inconvenience. This rarely happens for those that build a presentation using PowerPoint because it is considered standard industry software and is typically installed on a majority of devices.

7. Transform images. PowerPoint capabilities vary extensively. Due to the increased importance of visual learning cues, the software allows for you to edit images and create visually stimulating graphics to grab the attention of an audience. Features include color saturation and temperature, brightness, contrast, cropping and artistic filters.

Consider investing in the programs  to help improve your professional success. Both Microsoft Office PowerPoint and online training can assist in the development of dynamic presentation creation.

Company attains Microsoft Gold Competency Certification to improve client services

Company attains Microsoft Gold Competency Certification to improve client services

In order to provide clients with the best possible service , companies are required to employ skillful workers. One of the best methods of promoting and improving workers' ability to get the job done is to invest in Microsoft Office training.

One such company, SNVC, a leading provider of IT and network solutions, worked to gain Microsoft Gold Competency Certification to achieve improved business. Microsoft Gold Competency Certification demonstrates very specific goals and competencies. It is the highest certification level achievable and suggests a high level of expertise and specialized skills in a given technology or service area, according to Cetrom.net.

Companies that achieve the certification are recognized by Microsoft for their commitment to strengthening customer service by perfecting innovative business strategies and technologies. The classification provides the companies’ clients with a clear and standard reference to the quality of work to be expected. As a result of its premier status, only 1 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide have attained this level of proficiency, reports the source.

"From a technical standpoint, we have more certified Microsoft professionals than most of our competitors," said Justin Haffey, SNVC Chief Technical Officer. "This achievement guarantees you're working with credible, skilled people who have the tools and know-how to help you make strategic IT decisions for your company."

To achieve the certification, employees not only had to undergo Microsoft Office training to pass expertise tests, but also must be able to prove themselves through customer reference points that were independently verified by Microsoft.

"The achievement of Gold Partner (Portals and Collaboration) is an exciting step for the direction of the company," said Pete DiPaola, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Data. "We thank the employees who went through the rigorous training and testing process to earn this certification, as well as our clients who provided references on our work."

Companies interested in improving client services and increasing employee efficiency can use Microsoft certification such as the gold standard to prove dedication to high-quality. A business seeking new ways to improve overall perception may wish to invest in the training required to gain one of these premier and highly-trusted certification standards. Innovative and strategic business solutions such as these can put a company on the map as a leader.

A business owner or manager may ask for resources to be dedicated to progressive initiatives. Whether a business is small, mid-sized or global, Microsoft certifications can improve workers' ability to produce high-quality work in an efficient manner.

If the gold standard seems a bit out of reach at the moment, consider educating staff and testing for silver certification. This classification demonstrates a highly-specialized ability to commit to a project in a specific business solutions area, according to Cetrom.net. Achieving it results in recognition from Microsoft as a company dedicated to offering best-in-class solutions to customer and undergoing an audited process. Only 5 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide earn silver certification.

Consider investing in online training tools that may improve a business inside and out. Combine easy-to-use training programs and certification to increase workers' ability to produce high-quality products and services for clients at a timely rate.

The modern industry demands impeccable outcomes. Therefore, achieving trusted classification standards can improve a business' ability to attract and maintain client relations.

What to know about Microsoft Office Access 2010

What to know about Microsoft Office Access 2010

If you’re making the switch to Microsoft Office Access 2010 from Access 2007, or have never used the program before, online training can provide you helpful instruction. The directions are offered in versatile audio, written and visual formats to increase your rate of retention.

The newest edition of Microsoft Office allows you to build web databases and publish them to a SharePoint site to increase efficiency and promote optimal work flow. Collaborative technology such as this can increase production in an office environment and allow workers to edit pieces where ever they may be working. In an increasingly mobile workplace with telecommuters and easy-to-use technology, sharing becomes a crucial component to getting things done timely.

However, if these do not work for your project, consider making your own and commanding the fields you require to effectively display information. If the spreadsheets are already crafted, consider uploading them so that colleagues have access.

By putting these and others online, you can improve communication for an entire department if needed. However, don’t fret about showing others private documents or someone coming in and editing materials that shouldn’t be. Access 2010 allows you to set privacy settings or only viewing capabilities if needed.

Use the tools developed for business successfully by following the directions provided by online training. Adopting effective practices can improve business for the individual and a team as a whole.
