Product Reviewed: Total Training for Photoshop Elements 3 Unleashed

While Photoshop Elements is an incredibly
powerful and easy-to-use program, it's like anything
else in the creative arena. The more you
know, the better you can be. That's where a company
named Total Training comes in. They can
give you the instruction you need to become a real
power user with Photoshop Elements.
The company offers a wide range of computerbased
training on creative applications, including
a 6-hour DVD on Photoshop Elements called
Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 Unleashed.
Your guide through the training is Photoshop
Hall-of-Famer Deke McClelland who has a lighthearted
manner of presenting a powerful product
without making you feel like you are sitting
through a classroom lecture.
He covers the art of imaging, making the most
of the quick fix tool, adjusting colors, using adjustment
layers and importing camera raw images.
As your skills progress, Deke guides you
through selection techniques, photorealistic distortions,
using the healing brush and sharpening
images.
The lessons also cover effects, filters and layer
styles as well as how to use text and shapes with
your photos.
The DVD is designed to work on your computer
system so you can follow along. To keep you
up to speed with the instructor, Total Training
gives you the same set of project files Deke is using
in the program.
As if that isn't enough, you also get more than
$100 worth of royalty-free images in the deal.
Remember, the training does come on a DVD
so you will need a DVD drive on your computer.
For $60, this is a lot of training. It's definitely
worth the investment.
