Total Training For Flash Pro 8

The Total Training video is a very effective way to learn Flash. It's a great way for people with little or no Flash experience to gain an excellent foundation. At the end of this course, you'll be able to create Flash websites and presentations.
The Total Training video is loaded with lessons contained on 3 DVDs (24 hours). The first DVD gives you tutorials on everything you need to know about Graphics and how to use all your tools, the second one deals with Animation and the third, Interactivity.
All the project files are included and you can work along at the same time, at your own speed. The host, John Ulliman also throws in quite a few tips and tricks. I found the sections about using Flash screens and developing for mobile devices quite helpful. Playing with the new filters and blends was also wonderful fun. Not a great deal of ActionScript was covered. The instructor mostly used the Script Assist window and the Behaviours panel for writing the ActionScript, however, it's enough to get you started creating interactive projects. I would like to see them come up with a training video that focuses on intermediate to advanced ActionScript, I'd buy it!
This software has a nice interface where you can quickly navigate through the various lessons and topics, you can even set bookmarks. The video is also handy to use as a reference if you need to refresh your memory on a particular subject. All in all, a fantastic way to learn, it's the closest thing to having a personal tutor.
